In a lot of ways weddings are about history. What are the chances that every single one of your ancestors lived long enough to make sure their children and their children’s children came into existence in the first place? Generation after generation of people that came before you, that brought you to this point in your life. Not only that but generation after generation of people brought the person that you’re about to marry to this point too. That seems pretty remarkable to me.
“Libation is a ritual pouring of a liquid as an offering to a god or spirit or in memory of those who have died” – Wikipedia
At Maggie and Sam’s 6 St Chad’s Place wedding they held a traditional Chinese tea ceremony and Maggie’s Grandmother poured away tea as an offering to their ancestors. I really love having an opportunity to experience cultural traditions outside of my own.
