Warehouse wedding photography
I love warehouse weddings. There’s something lovely about seeing even the largest industrial space transformed into an intimate space for a wedding ceremony or reception. The atmosphere in a warehouse is always laid back and lovely and, of course, they make amazing backdrops for wedding photos. A dream for an Alternative wedding photographer! I want share some of my favourite warehouse wedding photography with you. I hope you enjoy it!
I’ve seen warehouses transformed in so many ways that even where I’ve shot weddings at the same venue in the same season the space feels completely different.
Warehouses provide such a great blank canvas they really suit DIY weddings or weddings where you want to make a creative impact. They’re ideal for couples that really stamp their style on things.
If you want something alternative, creative and a bit edgier for your wedding day a warehouse venue could really tick some boxes for you.
The best UK warehouse wedding venues
As the UK's self-appointed super-coolest alternative wedding photographer I’ve had the pleasure of shooting at warehouse weddings across the country. Here are my top 4:
- The Paintworks, Bristol
- Village Underground, London
- Camp and Furnace, Liverpool
- Trinity Buoy Wharf, London
- Fazeley Studios Birmingham
The Paintworks, Bristol

Superbly located in the middle of Bristol this incredible venue has two popular wedding spaces. There's the Event Space and The Theatre Space. It’s incredibly versatile, reflecting the ethos of the whole Paintworks site. Paintworks is a thriving creative quarter on Bath Road, Bristol.
Village Underground, London

Bung a few old Jubilee line trains and a couple of shipping containers on an old railway viaduct in Shoreditch and what have you got? One of the coolest wedding venues in the country, that’s what. The main space gives 5000ft of blank canvas to make your own and style your perfect wedding.
Trinity Buoy Wharf, London

Trinity Buoy Wharf is the home to London’s only lighthouse. It’s also home to three great warehouse spaces: The Chainstore, The Electrician’s Shop and The Drawing Studio. I’ve shot quite a few weddings here and you’ll see that I'm one of their recommended suppliers. I love the space, and I’m sure you will too. It’s well worth a little trip down past Canary Wharf to this gem.
