Danny and Alice’s colourful and fun Stoke Newington Old Church Wedding in London
It was an absolute joy to be a part of Danny and Alice’s Stoke Newington Old Church Wedding in London. Danny is a colour researcher. A Dr of Colour in fact, which is possibly the best thing to be a Dr of ever. I’ve known him for a while, as he worked with me for a while, helping me out on shoots and with editing, while he was at uni studying. It’s a delight to photograph any wedding but it’s extra special when it’s someone you know.
Danny and Alice got married at Stoke Newington Old Church. It’s called the Old Church because they built a New Church just over the road. It’s a fab, blank canvas wedding venue with the amazing added benefit of beautiful stained glass windows.
Pops of colour, flower equality and an amazing wedding celebrant
One of the things I especially loved about Danny and Alice’s day was the fact that both Danny and Alice carried flowers. Flowers should be for everyone. I also loved the splashes of colour, everywhere. They DIY’d all of the decor and it looked absolutely fab. Alice even made her own dress!
Danny and Alice had a fully vegan menu, including some amazing vegan doughnuts. They also had a Humanist wedding ceremony, led by the wonderful Natalie Raybould, that featured a surprise Rick Roll. It was my first wedding Rick Roll and Danny and Alice’s guests loved it.
This was a pre-Covid wedding, in case the sight of people hugging makes you wonder…
A laid back, East London day
Danny and Alice’s Stoke Newington Old Church Wedding was laid back and lovely. They moved to the US shortly after the wedding, so their focus was on a wonderful party where they could both celebrate and say goodbye to their nearest and dearest, before heading off on their next adventure.
