Sarah and Lauren’s laid back and intimate Smallfield Place wedding in Surrey
Sarah and Lauren met through friends, at a curry night in Washington D.C. They brought friends and family together from all over the world to celebrate their intimate Smallfield Place wedding.
Smallfield Place is a lovely exclusive hire Jacobean manor house. Sarah and Lauren spent the whole weekend there with 40 of their nearest and dearest. They had a really relaxed and intimate celebration. Keep scrolling to check out their pictures and also to read more about their Smallfield Place wedding.
Getting ready for their Smallfield Place wedding
I attract a lot of laid back couples and Sarah and Lauren were no exception. When I arrived at Smallfield Place, everyone was spending the morning relaxing and enjoying the grounds, before starting to get ready for the day ahead.
Sarah and I chatted about hiking while she got ready to put on her uniform, and Lauren got into her dress that was accessorised with a beautiful floral hoop from Bloomingayles.
A celebrant led ceremony by the water
Sarah and Lauren had a family friend conduct their ceremony. Humanist and celebrant led ceremonies are some of my favourites. They’re extra special when you can have someone you love to conduct it.
Guests took their seats next to the water, as Sarah and Lauren walked through the grounds, ready to say their vows.
Drinks, live music and dinner
After the ceremony was done, Sarah and Lauren snuck off to spend some time together while guests made their way back towards the house for drinks and music from The Fix Band.
We took some laid back group shots, including a sword arch, and then everyone made their way to sit down for dinner.
An alfresco wedding dinner
The tables were set up outside the house for a beautiful outdoor dinner. They looked lovely, with flowers and decor in blush, cornflower blue and chartreuse. There’s something really magical about seating everyone outside to eat. It was a bit touch and go, though as we weren’t really sure if the weather was going to play ball!
Dancing and some portraits as the sun went down
After dinner, the dancing started. For such a small wedding party, the dancefloor was packed throughout the dancing. I then whisked Sarah and Lauren away for some dusk portraits around the grounds, before leaving them to enjoy their Smallfield Place wedding party.
