Winchmoor hill. Lindsey and Ryan’s immediate family and closest friends gather in their house. Their London wedding party is a party of 7, including Lindsey and Ryan but not including Arthur the dog, who looks dashing in his bow tie. Mimosas are made in the kitchen and then spilled on the sofa. Arthur is blamed but not guilty. Lindsey and Ryan start to get ready. Lindsey’s dress hangs on the door and her bouquet of vintage paper roses by Annata Tesoro waits in a vase. Lindsey reads a letter from a far away friend, which causes laughter and tears in equal measure. Ryan puts on his suit, Lindsey puts on her dress and they are ready to go. The small but perfectly formed wedding party walks through the streets to Winchmore Hill station. We jump on a train to Highbury and Islington and then make our way down Upper Street, to Islington Town Hall. Their ceremony takes place in The Mayor’s Parlour. Again, there are laughter and tears in equal measure and the intimateness of the ceremony causes even the registrars to remark that it’s one of the loveliest they’ve been a part of. The exchange vows. They are married. They hug and kiss and exit the Town Hall, as their wedding party chase them with handfuls of confetti. We jump in taxis to Shoreditch and stop for coffee at White Rabbit Studios, before heading out into the streets of Shoreditch for wedding photography portraits around the urban environment. They stop for a phone picture, to post online to announce their secret marriage, before heading off to Pollen Street Social for dinner. (They also went to Bounce for a ping pong tournament later in the evening, which I wasn’t there to capture sadly – I wish I had been for the total awesomeness of it all!).

Any chance you know where the bride got her dress? Love it and looking for short white dresses which are hard to find!
Hi Lynn
Lyndsey’s dress was from Whistles! You could also check our Reiss. Good luck with your dress hunt.

Lovely – I love an intimate wedding, and these shots are beautiful. Funnily enough I used some of the same locations for a recent wedding, but it’s amazing to see how other people see the locations so differently, and can create something so unique.
Thanks, Ellie. I saw some of your shots from the same area and, yes, it’s great that we all see things so differently.
