A laid back London wedding at Islington Town Hall and The Peasant pub
I was definitely going to blog Sarah and Matthew’s wedding at Islington Town Hall earlier in the week but life got in the way. In truth, last weekend was my first wedding of my season proper so I am enjoying a slower pace of life just before wedding season explodes. From here on in I’m photographing weddings most weekends, with trips to Spain, Poland, France and Switzerland coming up so I’m enjoying the luxury of a quiet few weeks at home.
Sarah and Matthew’s Islington Town Hall wedding took place back in February, on a drizzly London day. The rain didn’t dampen their spirits and they celebrated at one of my favourite London pubs, The Peasant in Clerkenwell.
Getting ready in Walthamstow, East London
We started the day in Walthamstow, East London, where both Sarah and Matthew got ready. Sarah was at home and it was really lovely to see the inside of one of the Warner flats that I walked past so often when I lived in Walthamstow. After a relaxed morning of preparations we headed to Islington Town Hall to start official proceedings.
In spite of the rain, Sarah and Matthew’s London wedding was still full of colour from the colour pops of Sarah’s That Flower Shop bouquet to the red Citeron 2CV that perfectly aligned with the matching red door on a very London street.
A chilled out pub wedding celebration
Sarah and Matthew had a laid back and heartfelt day. Their favourite people were there, their daughter Ada was there (and made her presence known during the ceremony in the cutest way) and the focus was a chilled out celebration. I say it often but relaxed, personal weddings are my absolute favourite to photograph.
A lovely pub, confetti canons, scotch eggs, tequila shots and rainy adventures around the streets of Clarkenwell. If you’re looking for Islington Town Hall wedding photography I’d love to hear from you and while you’re here please do have a little look around.
