Will and Amy hadn’t planned to have an intimate Nonsuch Mansion wedding, but like so many of my couples over the last few years, they had to rejig their plans because you-know-what happened.

Will and Amy were married in May, with just a handful of their close family. It’s weird looking back on the last two years; you’d think weddings with reduced numbers and reschedules and masks and an abundance of hand sanitizer would feel strange, but they all felt incredibly special. I always feel grateful to play a small part in such a significant life event, but 2020 and 2021 weddings really did hit different!Flowers by Yoko at Nonsuch Mansion wedding

Relaxed preparations at Nonsuch Mansion

I spent a bit of time with both Amy and Will while they got ready. Their daughter spent the morning with Amy and she was incredibly excited about her dress, shoes and fairy wand.

When everyone was ready it was time for the ceremony, which took place in Nonsuch Mansion‘s beautiful Orchard room. Everyone then made their way outside for drinks on the lawn.

Dinner, speeches, and a first dance

After drinks, I whisked Amy and Will off for a few portraits around Nonsuch
Park. From Wisteria-lined walls, to woodland glades, there are plenty of beautiful spots for wedding photography portraits. Guests made their way inside for some emotional speeches – when you’re twice rescheduled wedding finally rolls around, feeling emotional is inevitable!

The wedding party then enjoyed dinner, followed by cutting the cake and finishing the day with a first dance.
