Laura and Matt’s Digbeth Engagement Shoot
This was my first shoot in Digbeth, since moving to Birmingham. I was really looking forward to shooting around the colourful streets with Laura and Matt.
Laura and Matt are getting married in the beautiful Cotswolds later this year. A shoot in gritty and urban Digbeth is pretty much the polar opposite of what their wedding photos will look like!
I always really value the opportunity to hang out with my couples and get to know them a bit before their wedding day. Whether you book an engagement shoot or not, it doesn’t really make any difference for me on the wedding day. It is really lovely to get to know you better, though. And it’s a really good opportunity for you to experience what it’s like to be photographed, so you know what to expect on the wedding day itself.
A wander around the streets of Digbeth
Laura and Matt met me in Digbeth for an afternoon wander, and they filled me in on their wedding plans. We walked around the streets, I filled them in on pretty much the only fact I know about local street artists, they laughed a lot (which is my favourite thing to photograph, by the way), they sat down in the street and I tried not to get run over by passing vehicles.
I’m really looking forward to being a part of Laura and Matt’s wedding in a few months. In fact, it’s one of my last of the summer and it’ll be an awesome way to finish up my summer wedding season.
Digbeth Street Art and the High Vis Festival
If you like the Street Art I used as backdrops in this shoot, you should check out the amazing High Vis Festival. They’re holding their annual festival in September and they’re responsible for commissioning a lot of the Street Art around Digbeth. The festival features art, comedy, music, comics and dance. Check them out here.
If you’re looking for Digbeth Engagement Photography or a Birmingham Wedding Photographer get in touch. I also shoot weddings across the UK.
