Professional, friendly and supportive from the outset- we couldn’t asked for more. Alice was just like one of our friends on the day and we had so many comments regarding how professional, amenable and lovely she is! We agree!!!!! Thank you for making our dreams come true”
I’m starting to get real wedding envy about Alice‘s weddings. Dewsall Court in Herefordshire is just wonderful and the last time I photographed a wedding there it rained and rained and rained, so we didn’t get to enjoy the full magic of the place. Lauren and Tom had a clear day that ended up with an outdoor first dance and ceilidh that looked like brilliant fun and the rest of their day was just beautiful. Here’s what they had to say about their Dewsall Court wedding:
“We met at school 15 years ago. Tom asked me to marry him after the arrival of our daughter Martha in December 2013. We wanted Martha to be a little older, so we planned for our wedding for August 2015.
Dewsall Court had our hearts from the moment we discovered it. We wanted something a little different where we could spend a few days with our family and fully embrace the wedding experience. Dewsall had everything we could ever ask for (and it truly met our expectations!!!!).”
Scroll down for more and for the credits! We are very lucky to have a tailor in the family (Oliver, brother in law/best man) therefore the men’s bespoke suits were arranged through Oliver whom works for Meyer & Mortimer in London. The bridesmaids dresses were found after a great deal of searching as we wanted something very special and finally found the beautiful trumpet dresses though Monique Lhuillier. These were altered by a fantastic tailor in Stratford called Rosie Armitage who did a brilliant job in making the dresses fit the girls perfectly.
The flower girls had classic satin puff sleeved dresses with cream tights and gold shoes. They wore hair circlets made by my sister and I.
My dress was based on that of the Princess of Monaco’s, although I knew I never going to achieve that level of beauty! I fell in love with the pleats and waist and sourced a lace overlay to complete.
I love flowers and was very excited to work with the very talented Herefordshire Flower Studio. The artisan floristry team understood exactly what we wanted and we feel very happy with the results! The bouquets not only looked superb they smelt great too as they included mint, jasmine and eucalyptus. The men’s boutonnieres mimicked the style and colouring of the flower girls hair circlets with craspedia, poppy heads and gypsophila. We also sourced the flowers from the studio for our flower chandeliers (made by my father Keith). We are so happy with how they turned out. I had dried hydrangeas over the past year in which we placed in large copper vases for the church. We wanted a botanical feel to the table settings in the reception and kept it simple with small shrubs in glass vases and succulents in copper pots. The name settings were made by my sister- handwritten parcel tags attached to a single piece of eucalyptus.
Having many years to contemplate and dream what our big day would be like it is so good to say that is was better than we could ever have expected. The ceremony was simply perfect for us. I hid the song that I walk down the aisle to from Tom (an orchestral version of Champagne Supernova-Tom’s favourite song) so as expected it was personal for us and a wee bit emotional!

The Big Moose Ceilidh Band provided our evening entertainment. A change to the agenda led to the great experience of the whole wedding party dancing the first Ceilidh dance outside- we had a lot of fun.
We took heed of the usual advice to enjoy the day as it goes so quick as it does. However, I believe it is important to fully embrace the whole experience of planning/hen parties and preparation. I wanted to enjoy every aspect, even the stressful moments as it will never occur again. I believe we can now rest and look back on all that we have achieved with the knowledge that we enjoyed every single moment.
