I’m writing this while I wait to travel home after an amazing week in Costa Rica, where I saw monkeys and sloths and parrots, zip-lined through forest canopies, swam in the ocean and a waterfall, walked through the jungle, hung out with old friends and made new ones and topped up my (very) depleted vitamin D levels.  I headed over to Costa Rica for The Woods Workshop, which is sponsored by my friends (and SNAP Photography Festival sponsors) QT Albums.  We spent the week shooting, exploring Quepos and experiencing a little slice of Costa Rica.

I  really, really loved Costa Rica as a country and I would love to go back and explore some more.  The scenery is beautiful, the people are really friendly and I got to eat some amazing seafood, including Tilapias and cerviches.  I didn’t eve scratch the surface of Quepos and Manuel Antonio so I would have loved to have had more time to explore the cities and to experience the Costa Rican culture a little more.

I am also heading home with a borderline addiction to Sala Lizano (I have a huge bottle stashed in my bag but just found out it’s full of MSG – sad face).

Here are a few of my favourite images from the workshop and from my time exploring the Quepos area. I really want to share as a) I had a great time and b) I hope these photos can provide some inspiration if you’re thinking of having a destination wedding in Costa Rica. Enjoy!

  1. Costa Rica is such an awesome place and your photos capture the essence of the place. If you ever do get a chance to go back, nip across the border (legally!) and visit Nicaragua too -it’s like going back in time and such a contrast to Costa Rica.

  2. Wow, these are gorgeous and I can’t tell you how much I wish I was there for this. I did 10 months around the world in my 20’s. I have fond memories of Manual Antonio from that trip where I spent a birthday, had a holiday romance and got lost in the jungle trying to take a short cut driving back from the north coast. If only I’d come back with shots this good though.

  3. COSTA RICA WAS AWESOOOOME!!!! What a fun time, I’m so glad to have gone and met everyone. Hope to see you next time I’m in Europe! I’ll come with a bottle of Salsa Lazano and I’ll be blaring that Russian song lol.
