colourful warehouse wedding

I love a warehouse wedding but when it’s a colourful warehouse wedding I love it even more.  Selena and Ramesh were married at one of my favourite spaces to photograph – The Chainstore at Trinity Buoy Wharf, in East London.  It was my first time shooting in The Electricians Shop – a new space – and it’s a really lovely for a cosy winter wedding ceremony with lots of fairy-lights.

Cosy was the right vibe for Selena and Ramesh’s wedding day, as it was FREEZING!  The absolutely brilliant thing about Trinity Buoy Wharf though is that it’s so versatile, with so many interesting backdrops for pictures, so it’s possible to work really quickly even when it’s minus one outside.  They were really troupers and they were determined to get outside for pictures even with the freezing London drizzle.

I really loved the emphasis on family during the speeches.  It was touching to hear two families from different cultural backgrounds talk about the values that unite them.  It’s always the speeches that make me feel emotional on a wedding day, without fail!

Oh and did I mention the dancing?  Selena and Ramesh gave a nod to both of their cultures by doing traditional dances for their guests.  It all had a brilliant energy and the guests absolutely loved watching it.

Another thing I love about Trinity Buoy Wharf is that it’s a blank canvas, so you can really put your own stamp on it.  Selena and Ramesh hung lanterns, created a really pretty ribbon backdrop, had pops of pink everywhere and they also gave a nod to Selena’s Greek heritage with evil eye pendants as favours for their guests.
