Andy and Lucy’s Clifton Suspension Bridge Engagement Shoot in Bristol
It’s kind of criminal that I haven’t blogged this until now, but I am a bit behind on sharing shoots and weddings. This time in isolation is a great opportunity to send some loveliness out into the world. Today I’m sharing Lucy and Andy’s Clifton Suspension Bridge Engagement in Bristol. I’ll be sharing their Dewsall Court wedding shortly so check back soon.
Starting Andy and Lucy’s engagement shoot at home, in Clifton
I really love shooting in a couple’s home. I met Lucy and Andy at their Bristol flat. As you’ll see below, there was an epic patch of light that I got a little bit obsessed with. It’s always fun to use light creatively and the way the light poured in through Lucy and Andy’s blinds, hitting a wall, made a really interesting backdrop for some fun portraits.
Hitting the streets of Clifton
Clifton is a leafy and lovely suburb of Bristol. With pretty streets and lots of independent shops, it’s a lovely part of town. It’s also the home of Bristol’s iconic suspension bridge. Andy and Lucy showed me around the streets and we found a bunch of really interesting shop fronts and colourful graffiti.
Sunset and Clifton Suspension Bridge
After exploring the streets of Clifton, we made our way over to Clifton Down. It’s a small park that overlooks Clifton Suspension Bridge. As we headed into the park, the sun was setting in the background and we were treated to the most beautiful golden light. Opportunities to shoot in such beautiful sunset light can be few and far between in the UK, so it was a real treat.
Engagement shoots and why they’re important
Andy and Lucy’s Clifton Suspension Bridge Engagement Shoot was a lot of fun for me and I always really value the opportunity to get to know my couples a bit better, before their wedding day. An engagement shoot definitely isn’t a necessity but there are a lot of benefits, the main one being it lets you experience what it’s like to be photographed by me. This gives you one less thing to worry about on the day. You can read more about the benefits of having an engagement shoot here.
