A laid back and lovely urban wedding at Clapton Country Club, in East London
Lisa and Daniel had been together for 11 years when they got married, and they’d known each other for two years before that. They met at the University and had a shared group of friends that were very close. At some point in the final year they started dating! I
They told me it was nothing serious at first, but slowly it became clear they were a pretty good team. Daniel and Lisa support each other in everything they do and have a brilliant laugh along the way.
When I asked what they were most looking forward to about their day, they told me it was seeing all of their friends (many of whom didn’t know each other and were travelling from around the world) and family, together, for the first time ever.
Celebrating their relationship was also hugely important to them, as it had run for longer than most of their friendship group, even those who were already married!
OMFG! These are awesome! You have smashed it!
– Lisa and Daniel
I met Lisa and Daniel after photographing Diane and Sull’s Roman Baths wedding and I was excited to be a part of their day. There where was so much joy and laughter to photograph and I know they were really focussed on their wedding being all about their friends and family having an amazing time.

East London Bride and Groom prep locations
Lisa started the day at their East London flat, where she had a relaxed morning with her friends. Her mum and Daniel’s mum joined in the fun a bit later and they sipped Champagne before heading to the venue in a taxi.
Daniel got ready at the beautiful Town Hall Hotel in Bethnal Green. He also had a laid back morning with his friends and brother.
A first look of sorts
We didn’t set out to do a first look but it was important to Daniel and Lisa to see each other before the ceremony, so Lisa and I jumped in a black London cab and headed to The Town Hall Hotel to meet Daniel. After the first look we took a few portraits and took some time to chill out and enjoy each other’s company.
A celebrant led ceremony
It was really important to Lisa and Daniel to have a personal, heartfelt ceremony that reflected them and their relationship so they decided to work with a celebrant. The ceremony was really touching and emotional as a result.
A brilliant celebration and party
From signature cocktails in the opium den style back room to a jam packed dance floor, Lisa and Daniel’s day was all about celebrating their relationship with their favourite people.
