Annika and Aslidair’s intimate Christmas Woolley Grange Wedding Bradford-on-Avon
Fa la la, it’s Christmas and I am a blogging machine! In case you’ve not been following along, it’s #7daysOfBlogmas and I’m sharing some festive content every day this week. Today it’s the turn of Annika and Alisdair. I photographed their intimate winter wedding on bright December day, and I’ve since been to their home a couple of times for family photography sessions.
One of my absolute favourite things is building a lasting relationship with my couples. It’s wonderful to capture them at different stages of their life.
An intimate family wedding
Annika and Alisdair had a really intimate wedding, with just Annika and Alisdair’s closest family present. There were just 12 guests in total.
Christy Waterfall was on makeup duty and this was one of the most chilled out getting ready rooms I’ve ever seen. Before the ceremony, we headed out to make the most of the winter light, and do some portraits before the wedding started.
A short and sweet ceremony followed by dinner
I was only with Annika and Alisdair for a few hours and after the ceremony, some relaxed drinks by a roaring fire and a few family pictures, the group headed through to the private dining room at Wolley Grange for an intimate family dinner.
Getting the styling right at a winter wedding can be tricky if you don’t want a Christmas wedding that feels Christmas themed. I loved the festive touches at Anniker and Alisdair’s day though. Sprigs of mistletoe, opulent colours and seasonal colours. I especially loved the pinks and reds in the flowers. Yummy!
A relaxed wedding with no fuss
I always really enjoy photographing intimate weddings like Annika and Alisdair’s. There’s something lovely about a tiny celebration, with just your nearest and dearest. Having a small civil celebration is also a great option if you plan to have a humanist or celebrant led wedding at a later date. I’ll be sharing another tiny celebration later in the week.
