Bath Family Photography: a day out in Vitoria Park with Martin Emma August and Griffin
Family photography is a fairly new offering for me. I’ve always thought I’m too busy with weddings to branch out, so in the past when people have enquired with me about a family photo shoot I’ve referred them on. It seems, though, a whole load of my couples are now expanding their families and I’ve started working with a few of them to document the next stage of their lives and the incredibly special time that is being a young family.
Martin isn’t one of my former clients, rather he’s an absolutely brilliant florist and we’ve worked on a wedding together in the past. He came to Bath with his lovely wife Emma and their two adorable kids, August and Griffin.
Jammie Dodgers all round
August was a little shy to start with but we bonded over a Jammie Dodger. Griffin took it all in his stride, even though he’d just woken up from a nap.
My approach with family photography, whether it’s out and about on location or at home is much like my approach to wedding photography. I love natural, candid shots that reflect who you are as people and I really enjoy just hanging out with you, capturing a few hours of your life as it unfolds.
We headed for Victoria Park in Bath, to catch some winter sunshine. After exploring the park for a while we hit the play park for some slide and swing time.
A highlight film from our Victoria Park adventure
Pete also created a highlight film of our time with Martin, Emma, August and Griffin and I’ve included it at the bottom of this post. A highlight film is a really lovely add on to any shoot you might have with me and it compliments your photographs beautifully. I love the way video and photography can capture the same story so differently.
If you’d like to capture a little slice of your family life, I’d love to work with you. You can get in touch here! Keep scrolling for pictures from this family photoshoot in Bath with Martin, Emma, August and Griffin.
