humanist wedding celebrant cambridge

I adore a back garden wedding but a back garden wedding with mismatched chairs, flamingos and flowers by the amazing Wild Florals Cambridge is on a whole other level of back garden wedding love!  To add to the amazingness of this day Jessie and Ed were absolutely wonderful to work with and they made us feel so welcome and part of their celebrations at Jessie’s family home in Cambridge.  I loved the party especially. Their whole party went wild to their ska band and it was a lot of fun to photograph!

Here’s what they had to say about working with me:

Working with Laura was really fantastic. She makes you feel relaxed and makes the couples portraits totally bearable and not cheesy at all which is exactly what we wanted! Our photos are totally awesome and Laura really understood what we wanted from a photographer. Organic, fun and easy to work with.

Jessie and Ed chose a back garden wedding as they wanted their wedding to be meaningful, laid back, pretty and personal to them.  Scroll down to read more about Jessie and Ed’s back garden wedding in their own words.

The Venues:
We wanted a wedding which was meaningful, laid back, pretty and personal to us so a back garden wedding made sense!

The Outfits:
Jessie – I wanted a simple dress. I don’t do the dress thing so choosing this was hard! I bought it from Ghost and then had it edited so it was personal to me.
Ed – wanted a suit which was different to what he usually would wear. He loves tweed and was set on something with texture.

The Decor:
We wanted something which reflected our surroundings. Something which looked organic and fitted well with the garden.  Our florist Rosie is Ed’s sister-in-law and only works with wild flower arrangements really so it was the perfect fit. We wanted bright and colourful flowers with the real ‘wow’ factor!

The Ceremony:
We wanted our ceremony to be simple, personal and laid back. It was important for us to say those meaningful words in front of our friends and family but we didn’t want it to be something which they felt was boring or too long!

The Entertainment:
Band – Big 10. They are a ska band who cover lots of the specials, the beat etc which is what we both love.
