Lauren and Dan’s Aynhoe Park wedding photography
“It’s you, it’s you, it’s all for you, everything I do. I tell you all the time, heaven is a place on earth with you. Tell me all the things you wanna do”
Aynhoe Park. Half country house, half art gallery. Taxidermy lines the corridor; artworks, sculptures, decor and curiosities line every surface. Lauren gets ready with her mum and friends. Her Delphine gown hangs in the wardrobe. Her simple flowers are ready waiting. She wears her “Mrs Jacobs” gown, while the finishing touches are made to her make up. In another room Dan puts on his shoes and puts on his shirt, with the help of Lauren’s mum. Lauren gives out gifts to her bridesmaids before putting on her dress. Guests start to arrive downstairs and they’re impressed by their surroundings. A polar bear greats them, as they chat and mingle. In the ceremony room Dan is waiting. He seems relaxed as his family, many of whom have travelled all of the way from Australia, chat to him and keep him calm. Everything goes quiet as Lauren makes her entrance. Half way up the aisle she catches Dan’s eye and they beam at each other. They hold hands as they say their vows. They are husband and wife. They walk back down the aisle as guests shower them with confetti and Lauren does a small, jubilant air punch. They head off to the Drawing Room to spend a little bit of time alone, with a glass of Champagne, while guests mingle and eat canapés. We head outside for their wedding photography group shots, as the heavens open and cast a beautiful rainbow over Aynhoe Park. The skies clear and I whisk Lauren and Dan off for their wedding portraits against the backdrop of taxidermy giraffes and soft Autumn afternoon light. Everyone enjoys speeches from both dads and also Dan and then dinner is served, followed by shots and more drinks to mark the start of the party.
I’ve included a few more shots than usual in this post – how can you not when surrounded by the visually stimulating spectacle that is Aynhoe Park. I was thrilled to get the chance to photography Lauren and Dan’s wedding there – Alice and I were a bit like small children in a sweetshop, as we turned every corner to find something new to look at. And the light is just beautiful where ever you are in the house.
Lauren’s beautiful dress was by Delphine Manivet from Browns Bride. Other suppliers who helped make the day awesome include: Mustard Hairdressing, Charlotte Cowen and Sweetpeas Floral Design.
