Destination Wedding Photographer collections
I love to travel and one of my favourite things to do when I’m not photographing weddings is to explore somewhere I’ve never been before with my camera in hand. Seeing the world and discovering new places and cultures is one of my favourite things, so you can imagine how much I love destination wedding photography and the opportunity to work with couples as their destination wedding photographer.
I’ve been lucky enough to work as a destination wedding photographer all over the UK, in Italy, the Caribbean, Scotland and Ireland. I would absolutely love to explore more of the world with my couples, so I thought I’d spend a little time explaining my destination wedding photography packages and my approach to photographing your destination wedding.
I approach each wedding I photograph as a unique opportunity to tell a story. Whether you’re getting married on a cliff in Iceland or in the Tuscan hills your wedding is all about capturing you, your friends and family, and documenting your wedding in a creative and artistic way.
Destination weddings lend themselves to this wonderfully as it’s an adventure for everyone involved. New places, different cultures, unexplored cities and beautiful scenery. I love to explore a new place with my camera before I start officially shooting and I’ll be happy to provide you with a copy of any personal photographs I take, as a gift.
I always arrive at least two days before your wedding, so as to avoid any issues with travel and also so I have time to acclimatise and explore the area. I’ll also need to rest up to recover from my journey, so that’s what I’ll generally do on my first evening, so I’m fresh and ready to go.
The day before the wedding I’ll spend some time looking around your venue and getting ideas for possible portrait locations. We’ll also get together for a chat about the format of the day and so you can update me on any last minute changes.
Something to keep in mind for destination weddings in hot countries is that you’ll want to leave portraits and group shots until as late in the day as possible, so that we can do them in soft, flattering light. You also don’t want your guests over heating!
I offer a complimentary 2 hour shoot either side of the wedding day and my preference is to use this for a day after shoot. This gives you a chance to put on your outfits again and head off on an adventure, to remote and dramatic locations that it might not be logistically possible to visit on the day of the wedding.
If you want me to hang around for a few days after the wedding and document some of your other activities and experiences, I’m more than happy to.The Collection
